Resilience as Life as Usual

Too often, resilience is treated as a framework, a policy or a compliance exercise. We take a different view. Real resilience develops when people understand it, experience it and make it part of everyday life, so that the instincts people build in their daily lives carry into how they work, teach and create.

That idea runs through everything we do.

Three strands, one initiative

• Consultancy. Practical, proportionate business continuity, operational and technology resilience for organisations of any size, including fractional resilience leadership.
• Education. CPD, school partnerships and policy advocacy for educators, grounded in SEND, performing arts and therapeutic practice.
• Creative. Film production, with series and documentary in development, and publishing through Tapping Frog Literary.
• Mentor Through Film. An initiative that all three strands support and inform: collaborative productions that give emerging creatives real experience alongside working practitioners.

Creative Resilience

People learn through experience, and they engage through stories. We see creativity not as separate from resilience but as one of the most effective ways of building it. Creative Resilience is our name for storytelling, creative practice and shared experience used to help people engage with complex ideas, build confidence and develop the capability to navigate change.

How the strands feed each other

The strands are designed to strengthen one another. Some of the ways that already happens:

• Education shapes how we make films. Annarie's specialist SEND and performing arts practice informs how our productions are set up, so that creatives with additional needs can work alongside others on real projects.
• Film gives emerging talent something real. Mentor Through Film productions put new and emerging creatives on films that reach real audiences, and the recognition those films earn shows that the model works.
• Resilience runs through the creative slate. Our development slate explores resilience, technology, history, human behaviour and social change.
• Resilience practice informs education. We have developed a policy framework for embedding resilience as a cross-curricular capability in UK schools, including SEND-specific implementation guidance.
• Educators keep us grounded. Working with educators and schools keeps our thinking tied to what actually works in a classroom, so learning flows in both directions.

What we are building

We are interested in more than delivering services. We want to create environments where people and organisations can show what they are capable of: organisations that keep operating when conditions change, educators equipped to help every learner find a path, and creatives who find opportunity beyond traditional routes.
